Mahogany Name Wall Hanging

Built for Savanna’s nursery

One of the last things I finished before Savanna joined our family was this cutout of her name for the wall above the crib. I printed out some templates of the letters and used spray adhesive to attach it to pieces of 1/2-inch African mahogany. Then I used a jigsaw to cut the letters out by hand (with some of the straight cuts on the table saw). The “hazel” piece was the hardest part and took two tries after the vibration of the jigsaw caused a break in my first attempt at a weak point in the middle of the “h.” Finished with Rubio Monocoat and hung with simple D-rings.
